About the Charles H. Callison Award
Charles H. Callison was the Executive Vice-President of the National Audubon Society from 1966-1977. In the 50's he was assistant to then NAS president Carl Buckheister and was responsible for organizing Audubon chapters into nine regions. In the 60's and 70's he was known as "Mr. Audubon."
The Charles H. Callison award was created in 1994 to recognize outstanding National Audubon Society staff and chapter volunteers. Selection of award recipients is made by the National Audubon Board of Directors.
